Caplenco was founded in 1987 by Jean van Cappellen as a representation and brokerage agency in the edible nuts and dried fruits industry. Known in the market as "Mr. Pecan," Jean van Cappellen built a strong reputation and long-standing relationships throughout the sector.
In 2016, Adelante Foods was founded by professionals with more than 25 years of experience in the edible nuts and dried fruits industry, with the aim of expanding agency and representation activities within the sector.
In mid-2024, Caplenco was acquired by Adelante Foods, bringing together decades of market expertise, relationships, and complementary strengths. As of April 1, 2026, the statutory name of Adelante Foods was officially changed to Adelante Caplenco B.V., reflecting the integration of both companies and their shared future.
We represent suppliers at origin, particularly within the edible nuts and dried fruits sector, serving importers, packers, wholesale and industrial/confectionery markets across Europe. Our goal is to share our network and experience with both customers and suppliers, building sustainable supply chains and long-term relationships.
